Thiès : un chauffeur de taxi arrêté pour tentative de viol
A taxi driver in his fifties was arrested by police for attempted rape of a female customer.
The events reportedly took place on the night of February 3-4, 2026. The young woman, who was returning home to the Zone d'Aménagement Concertée (ZAC) in the commune of Thiès-Nord, had the misfortune of encountering a malicious taxi driver.
Instead of taking her to her destination, the driver allegedly took a different route and disappeared. Suddenly, the woman, quite surprised, realized she had found herself in an uninhabited, isolated, deserted area somewhere behind the "SEN IRAN" car assembly plant. Did the man in question intend to take advantage of her?
But the brave young woman refused to give in, putting up a heroic resistance against her assailant. She fortunately managed to escape, but suffered a broken arm. This heinous act kept Commissioner Safiétou Mbaye and her valiant team up at night. They wasted no time in launching a manhunt for the suspect.
Thanks to their professionalism and perspicacity, they were able to identify and apprehend the suspect, who is now in police custody and at the disposal of the justice system.
