Côte d’Ivoire : Sablux et la mairie de Abobo s’allient pour 5 000 nouveaux logements
Abidjan, January 26, 2026 - As part of the national policy to combat the housing deficit, the Sablux Group renews its commitment alongside the State of Côte d'Ivoire and local authorities, by supporting the implementation of real estate projects with a strong social and economic impact.

It is within this context that a major agreement was signed between the Sablux Group and the municipality of Abobo, concerning the construction of 5,000 social, affordable, and upscale housing units. These 5,000 units are in addition to the 10,000 units already signed with the Ivorian government, bringing the total number of housing units committed by the Sablux Group in the country to 15,000.

This agreement, concluded with the Abobo municipality, reflects a shared commitment to sustainably transforming the living environment of residents by providing concrete and accessible solutions to address population pressure and the significant housing shortage in Greater Abidjan. It relies in particular on the technical expertise of the Sablux Group and a structured financial mechanism, supported by the SUNU Group, a leading African financial partner in the bancassurance sector, which mobilizes resources tailored to financing large-scale real estate projects.

For the Sablux Group, a leading pan-African player in the construction and real estate development sector since 2009, this project is a structuring operation, mobilizing its technical know-how, financial capabilities and integrated model, covering the entire value chain, from design to construction, up to the delivery of large-scale residential programs.

This 5,000-unit housing program is expected to benefit more than 25,000 people and generate over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs throughout the construction period, while also significantly engaging local construction and engineering sectors. It will thus contribute to strengthening the economic attractiveness of the Abobo district and supporting better-structured and sustainable urban development.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of several authorities and institutional officials, including Mr. Célestin Koalla, Director General of Housing and Living Environment at the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning, Ms. Kandia Kamissoko Camara, Mayor of the municipality of Abobo and President of the Senate of Côte d'Ivoire, as well as leaders of the Sablux Group, including Mr. Souleymane Diallo, Managing Director of Sablux Holding, and Ms. Simone Lopy, Managing Director of Sablux Côte d'Ivoire.

Beyond the social dimension, this initiative represents a major economic lever, stimulating local construction and public works sectors and contributing to the growth dynamics of the Ivorian real estate sector.

By engaging with local authorities, the Sablux Group confirms its public-private partnership strategy and its commitment to deploying replicable projects in other municipalities and urban centers in Ivory Coast as well as in other countries in the sub-region, positioning housing as a driver of sustainable economic development.
