«Injustice foncière» à Keur Ndioukhoune : Babacar Ba interpelle Bassirou Diomaye Faye
In Keur Ndioukhoune, in the commune of Fandène, Thiès region, more than 3 hectares of land, cultivated for nearly seven decades by a farming family, are reportedly about to be taken from their traditional occupants and given to a third party, Cristhiane Lahoud Daou, described as being of Lebanese nationality. This information was revealed by Babacar Ba, president of the Forum of the Justiciable.
Indeed, in an open letter addressed to the President of the Republic, Mr. Ba denounces a "land injustice of exceptional gravity, resembling a true social tragedy".
According to him, the lands in question constitute both a family concession and a vital means of subsistence, recalling that they represent "an economic asset indispensable to the survival of this family, but also a deeply rooted historical and cultural heritage."
Faced with this situation, the former head of OFNAC openly questions the conditions under which this allocation was made. "How can modest farmers be dispossessed of their ancestral lands, which they have peacefully cultivated for decades to ensure their subsistence, in order to allocate them to a third party?" he asks.
Babacar Ba goes further, raising doubts about the transparency of the process. "What are the real grounds for this allocation? Was it done with complete transparency? Does it serve the public interest or are there hidden motives?" he asks, believing that these questions "deeply trouble the populations concerned."
Drawing a parallel with the Ndingler case, Babacar Ba calls on President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to act "with the same determination" to put an end to what he calls "manifest injustice".
"We request your immediate intervention to restore the law and protect these lands cultivated from generation to generation," he insists.
