In Thailand, a woman woke up moments before her cremation. A temple employee who was about to perform the cremation heard a noise coming from inside the coffin.

An incredible story. A 65-year-old woman, who had been declared dead and was about to undergo cremation, woke up on Sunday, November 23, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

A few hours earlier, early Sunday morning, she had been found unresponsive by her family. She was pronounced dead by emergency services who responded to her home in the city of Phitsanulok, Thailand, where she had been bedridden for two years.

Placed in a coffin, she was about to be transported from the Wat Rat Prakhong Tham temple, not far from Bangkok, for cremation. But an employee present at the scene, who was tasked with moving it into the hall for a ceremony preceding its final transfer to the crematorium, heard the old woman calling for help from inside the coffin.

"She was still moving"

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he recounted his immense surprise at seeing the woman who had been declared dead still alive: "I lifted the cloth covering her and froze when I saw that she was still moving. She was conscious, breathing faintly and nodding her head, even though she was unable to speak. I was stunned, because I had never experienced anything like it before."

Her brother also expressed his immense emotion upon hearing the news. "I was shocked, surprised, and happy that my sister was still alive. I almost fainted from surprise. It's a miracle that she woke up," he told the British media.

Her sister was quickly taken to Bang Yai Hospital. The abbot of the Phra Kitti Wachirathada temple announced that he would cover the medical expenses of the woman who miraculously recovered, stating that he had never witnessed such an event in his entire experience at the temple.
