Disgusting! It's a scene straight out of a pornographic film. The images shocked the public at the Dakar courthouse. A private hire vehicle (PHV) driver masturbated in front of a female passenger, even asking her to touch his genitals so he could ejaculate. Cheikh Seck, 49, married and father of six, readily admitted to the charge of indecent assault with violence.
The public prosecutor, Bèye, showed him no mercy. He insisted that the video filmed by the victim, a student, be shown in court. Upon seeing the footage, the defendant collapsed, unable to stand.

In court, the plaintiff recounted her ordeal. She had ordered a ride-hailing service to get to school. That's how she ended up with Cheikh Seck, who was driving an SUV. He picked her up in the Mamelles district for a trip to Sacré-Cœur. After driving along the Corniche, the driver, upon reaching the Keur Gorgui housing complex, urinated in a bottle in the middle of traffic. He then exposed himself and began masturbating. "He told me, 'Come suck me.' I flinched. He suddenly grabbed my hand. I struggled. He told me, 'Just watch me so I can come,'" the young student explained. She added, "The doors were locked. The only thing I could do was film it."
When questioned in turn, the defendant admitted to masturbating in front of the passenger, but denied making obscene remarks. He apologized and declared, "I know I have ruined my life. I beg for your mercy," Cheikh Seck pleaded.
2 years in prison
For Mbaye Sène, the lawyer representing the plaintiff, the defendant should also have been prosecuted for the offense of endangering the lives of others. "At the moment he committed the act, he could have hit an obstacle and killed this girl," the lawyer argued, demanding 2 million FCFA in damages for all causes and harm combined.
In his observations, the public prosecutor described the defendant as a sexual predator. He emphasized that Cheikh Seck wasn't even officially a ride-hailing driver. He was a chauffeur for a CEO at a local company. In his spare time, he used the ride-hailing app to select female clients and engage in sexual acts. The prosecutor requested a three-year prison sentence and a fine of 500,000 FCFA.
The defense pleaded for leniency, citing the defendant's vulnerability. The court ultimately found Cheikh Seck guilty and sentenced him to two years in prison. He will also have to pay one million CFA francs in damages to the plaintiff.
