TGI : Frustré par l’absence de contrat, il vole deux téléviseurs à son hôtel et prend un mois de prison
A cleaning technician at the Ansaly Hotel, L. Sall was tried in flagrante delicto by the Mbour High Court for theft with the use of a means of transport.
Having worked at the establishment for several years without a contract, the defendant admitted to the court that he resented the fact that new, recently recruited staff members were receiving contracts, while he was not. Frustrated by this situation, which he considered unfair, he decided to steal two televisions belonging to the hotel.
With a smile, the defendant admitted the facts, explaining that he wanted to express his dissatisfaction.
The judge asked him if he found the situation laughable, while reminding him of the seriousness of his act.
Lawyer representing the interests of the Ansaly Hotel, Mr. Sène, claimed the sum of one million CFA francs for all causes and damages suffered.
L. Sall was sentenced to one month in prison and ordered to pay the sum of 500,000 CFA francs to his now former employer.
