TRIBUNAL DE THIÈS : L'ouvrier E. Diouf condamné à 4 mois de prison ferme pour vol d'œufs
The worker E. Diouf is being prosecuted for theft committed at night as part of a group. He is accused of having been in league with Mr. Camara to steal eight egg trays from a henhouse where they were employed in Pout.
According to their boss, Mr. Dojo, a drop in production was observed in his chicken coop. After investigating, the boss realized that tablets were being stolen from him.
To put an end to this, Mr. Dojo alerted all his security guards. A few days later, an individual attempted to scale the wall carrying egg cartons. He was discovered by the security guard, Mr. Goudiaby, who recognized the worker, Mr. Camara. The latter managed to escape, leaving behind the egg cartons he had concealed in a bag.
Upon learning of the situation, Mr. Dojo gathered all his employees to check their cell phone records. This revealed that worker E. Diouf was in contact with the suspect, Mr. Camara. When questioned, E. Diouf admitted to helping him commit several thefts in the chicken coop. He was subsequently imprisoned for aggravated theft committed at night.
In the dock of the Thiès court of flagrant offenses, E. Diouf attempted to deny the facts, declaring that it was M. Camara who committed the thefts alone.
The lawyer for the plaintiffs demanded 11 million CFA francs in damages from the defendants E. Diouf and M. Camara (who is at large). The prosecutor considered the facts to be established and requested the application of the law.
The judge found E. Diouf guilty of theft and sentenced him to two years in prison, including four months of mandatory imprisonment.
