Affaire Epstein : Une commission du Congrès américain va interroger Bill Gates

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates will be questioned behind closed doors by the US Congress on June 10, 2026, in the Epstein case, in order to clarify his past ties with the financier

And another hearing in the Epstein case. Bill Gates is scheduled to testify on June 10 before a House of Representatives committee investigating the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to information confirmed Tuesday by AFP following revelations by Politico. The hearing will be held behind closed doors.

The committee wants to question the Microsoft co-founder about his past relationship with the American financier, who died in prison in 2019 before his trial for sexual crimes. A spokesperson for Bill Gates indicated that he "welcomes the opportunity to appear before the committee" and is willing to cooperate with lawmakers.

Gates eager to answer questions

The same statement specifies that "although he never witnessed or participated in any illegal activity by Epstein, he is eager to answer the commission's questions to support this important work." The stated objective is to clarify the nature of his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein.

At the end of February 2026, Bill Gates had already acknowledged that his contacts with Jeffrey Epstein constituted "a huge mistake." Speaking to members of his foundation, he explained: "It was a huge mistake to spend time with Epstein," while also stating: "I did nothing illegal. I saw nothing illegal."

Gates and Epstein had known each other since 2011

According to his own statements, the relationship between the two men began in 2011, three years after Jeffrey Epstein's conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution. He also admitted to extramarital affairs with two Russian women, which he claimed were unrelated to the financier's activities.

Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice also mention a draft email attributed to Jeffrey Epstein, in which he discusses Bill Gates' extramarital affairs and claims to have helped "Bill" obtain drugs related to "sexual relations with Russian girls." These elements, as the file points out, do not in themselves constitute proof of wrongdoing.
