Alertes aux missiles à répétition en Israël, huit blessés légers
Eight people were slightly injured Sunday in central Israel after Iranian missile fire, rescue services said, during a day marked by repeated alerts.
Police said a missile equipped with a cluster warhead targeted the Tel Aviv area, in a message accompanied by CCTV footage showing an explosion caused by a projectile falling in the street, in an urban area.
AFP journalists at an impact site, also in Tel Aviv, saw several destroyed cars and debris on the ground, in a street where security forces and rescue workers were deployed.
"One of the missiles fell here, right behind me. We are in the very center of Tel Aviv," said police commissioner Shlomi Schlezinger, who was present at the scene, stressing that the strike had caused "no casualties" but "a lot of collateral damage to cars and buildings."
He added that the missiles were targeting "places that are always crowded, very busy places, with lots of people, large metropolises, city centers".
Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on Sunday accused Iran "of deliberately targeting civilians, both Jews and Muslims, including during Ramadan" and denounced "war crimes".
Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, reported eight minor injuries as a result of the shooting.
According to the army, half of the missiles fired towards Israel by Iran since February 28, in response to the American-Israeli offensive against the Islamic Republic, were equipped with cluster munitions.
In total, 12 people were killed in Israel. Most of the missiles are intercepted by air defenses, but debris or projectiles that fall back to the ground regularly cause injuries and damage.
A military official asserted on Sunday that there was "no shortage of missile interceptors" in Israel, responding to press inquiries about rumors of dwindling stocks.
According to the leading daily newspaper Haaretz, which cites security officials, 250 ballistic missiles had been fired by Iran at Israel as of March 13.
According to data compiled by this newspaper, three conventional missiles and 11 missiles equipped with cluster warheads have penetrated Israeli air defenses since the start of the war, compared to three cluster missiles that struck Israel during the 12-day war against Iran in June 2025.
