Brésil : Ils avaient enfermé leur fille de 6 ans dans sa chambre depuis sa naissance
In Brazil, police rescued a little girl who had been locked in her room since birth. At six years old, she cannot speak, has never been to school, and has never eaten solid food.
A six-year-old girl is reportedly living a nightmare in Sorocaba, São Paulo state, Brazil. According to a report by local media outlet Globo, she had been locked in her room since birth. An investigation is underway against her parents for "kidnapping" and "unlawful confinement."
Following an anonymous tip, local police arrived at the family home last Thursday. They found the child in a deplorable state. "When we met her, she was very listless. Her hair was matted and looked like it had never been washed. She hadn't eaten," said Lígia Guerra, a child protection advisor.
"All his rights have been violated."
According to Lígia Guerra, the six-year-old girl cannot speak. She only makes a few sounds. "All her rights have been violated. She has never interacted with other children," she laments. According to the police, she has never attended school, has not been vaccinated, and has not received any medical care since birth. She has never left her room and has never eaten solid food.
When she left home, the little girl was "dazzled by everything," according to Lígia Guerra. Her parents, aged 45 and 54, were arrested and taken into custody. A police spokeswoman said that "the mother did not (seem) to grasp the gravity of the situation." The girl was taken to hospital, where doctors diagnosed a double infection, a urinary tract infection and a blood infection. She was then taken into care by social services.
