Horror in Milan. On Tuesday, October 14, 29-year-old Italian model Pamela Genini was murdered by her ex-boyfriend on her own balcony, in full view of her neighbors. The 52-year-old man stabbed Pamela more than twenty times. Emergency services, who arrived quickly on the scene, were unable to save her.

Police reports indicate that the young woman's ex-boyfriend broke into her apartment on Via Iglesias in Milan on Tuesday evening around 9:30 p.m. He entered using a copy of her key, which he had apparently had made a few weeks earlier. Once on the third floor, he began begging her to take him back, but she refused.

The situation quickly escalated. A violent argument broke out between the exes, and Gianluca Soncin, 52, dragged Pamela out onto her balcony. He stabbed her several times with a knife. Shocked neighbors witnessed the scene. They immediately called the police and emergency services.

Emergency services arrived at the scene around 10 p.m., just minutes after the neighbors called. Police and firefighters broke down the apartment door to gain access. When they finally reached the balcony, the victim was sadly already dead. They were unable to save her.

According to prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, Pamela Genini, 29, suffered a total of 24 stab wounds. She suffered injuries to her neck, back, chest, thighs, and hands.

The attacker was still holding the knife when police intervened. He stabbed himself twice in the neck. Officers managed to disarm him, and he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He is currently in jail.

“She was screaming for help.”

In the columns of the local media Milano Today, a neighbor recounts: “She was screaming very loudly for help, first inside, then outside. We could hear her screams very clearly.” The neighbor had never noticed anything strange or heard any arguments between the former couple before.

Other neighbors, however, claim that there seemed to be recent tensions between them. “I heard them arguing,” another resident said. “His last words were: please,” another witness emotionally confided to Italian public broadcaster RAI.

A “possessive and violent” man

Several acquaintances told Italian media that the two had started dating in March of last year. The man, in his fifties, had reportedly been acting “possessively” and “violently” recently. He had allegedly “repeatedly threatened Pamela.” He also allegedly displayed “harassing and frightening behavior.” They also claimed that the model had been “afraid” to end their relationship.

According to Italian media reports, Gianluca Soncin has already been questioned for the first time at the hospital. The 52-year-old did not answer the prosecutor's questions and invoked his right to remain silent. He is due to appear before the investigating judge today. Gianluca Soncin is accused of premeditated murder and harassment.
