«ELLE EST VEUVE, IL LA MANIPULE SENTIMENTALEMENT» : UNE BELGE ARNAQUÉE DE PRÈS DE 7.000 EUROS PAR UN FAUX PIERRE GARNIER
False romance and organized plundering. A Belgian retiree, aged around 70, is convinced she is having a relationship with the singer Pierre Garnier, despite warnings from her relatives, reveals sudinfo .
Thus, since 2024, she has allegedly sent 7,000 euros to a man she met on a fan group of the Star Academy winner, after he approached her and adopted amorous behavior towards her.
But behind the screen, the daily messages, the compliments, and the veiled promises of meetings are nothing more than a Pierre Garnier lookalike. A scammer, according to those close to her, who relentlessly manipulates her. Completely hooked and genuinely convinced she's interacting with the singer of "Ceux qu'on était," this widowed woman continues to send him money with each pension payment.
She now lives "in the cold, without heating," according to the Belgian media outlet, but she's not giving up: she has no intention of leaving "Pierre" destitute. The man claims to earn only 2,000 euros. The tactic is classic: isolate the victim.
The retiree has cut ties with her children, who have finally filed a complaint. "She's a widow, he's manipulating her emotionally... He's taking her money," her relatives told the Belgian media.
The conman even mentioned a meeting, which greatly worries his family, who now fear for his safety.
Despite the warnings, the woman refuses to believe it could be a scam. To everyone else, the con artist is simply a predator who has found a lucrative opportunity in his loneliness.
