The tragedy occurred around 1 a.m. on the A6b motorway near Wissous (Essonne), as the 22-year-old man was driving alone towards Paris. For reasons still unknown, he lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the central barrier. The force of the impact left him no chance of survival. Emergency services, quickly dispatched to the scene, pronounced him dead after extricating him from the vehicle.

Authorities have closed all lanes to secure the scene. An investigation has been launched and entrusted to the highway patrol to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
