Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei "should be very worried right now," Donald Trump said Wednesday, February 4, in an interview excerpt broadcast by NBC.
“I think he should be very worried right now. As you know, they’re negotiating with us,” the US president said. He made this comment as, according to the Axios website, talks scheduled for Friday between the United States and Iran were on the verge of collapsing due to disagreements over the venue and agenda.
The US president also assured NBC that Iranian authorities were considering opening a new nuclear site, following the strikes carried out by the Americans last June against their facilities.
"They were considering opening a new site elsewhere in the country," he said, adding: "We found out about it and I said, if you do that, we're going to make you suffer very harshly."
