France: un directeur d'école menacé par une famille qui refuse un enseignant masculin
A teacher at a public nursery school in Rennes, western France, was the victim of threatening remarks from a family who believe a man should not be in contact with young children, sparking a wave of support.
"In this case, it's not a religious motive," Education Minister Édouard Geffray assured reporters on the sidelines of a trip to another region. "The school principal was right," the minister affirmed, offering him "the full support of the institution."
"School is not a supermarket for individual demands. So we cannot have people who, upon arriving at school, want this or want that," he said.
The teacher, who is also the head of the nursery school, filed a complaint on October 14 "for death threats dating back to October 10," said public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet on Thursday. "The procedure is underway," he added.
The teacher "suffered serious threats from a family at the school. These threats were accompanied by comments amounting to sexist insults, defamation and contempt," wrote members of the educational team in a leaflet that AFP was able to consult.
According to union sources, the parents refused to allow a man, the principal in this case, to teach their daughter and demanded that she change classes to benefit from strictly female supervision.
The father reportedly told the director, who had rejected his request, that he was prepared to go to prison if he had to attack him to get his way.
Shocked, the teacher has been on sick leave ever since.

Les gens sont vraiment cons.
Pareil dans la circulation. Certains crient qu'ils ont la priorité. Ignorant si l'autre les a vus, ils se retrouvent à l'hopital ou au cimetiere ou pour le mieux, verront des degats immobiliser leur voiture meme si c'est pris en charge. C'est qu'on a beaucoup de temps et d'energie à perdre!
Tous ces "problemes" peuvent etre éviter.
Ce qui compte c'est pas d'avoir raison. C'est toujours de rentrer sain et sauf, sans enfreindre les lois.
Y'a t il une loi qui interdit de changer de classe ? Soyons souple et intelligent !!
Sinon, malgré tout le boucan, on y perd en fait ! A quoi bon, après tout.
Quand j'ai compris que je pouvais me faire casser la gueule et perdre du temps, j'ai evité soigneusement les conflit. Mais ce qui m'a surtout dissuadé c'est que je pouvais plus en perdre si je prenais le dessus et malmenais un trop l'adversaire et finir en prison.
Voilà, mais n'en profitez pas pour me repondre mal. Je peux changer a tout moment. Ainsi va l'humain, mes amis...
Ce sont tjrs les mêmes qui cherchent des "draaa"(problème!)
