Google permet désormais à votre employeur d’archiver Vos SMS

With its latest update, Android allows businesses to store and view SMS and RCS messages sent from company phones.

If you're in the habit of sending funny videos to your colleagues on your work phone, your employer can now find out. In its latest update, Android introduced a feature that changes how work phones are used: RCS messages (a more modern version of SMS, with more features like images and read receipts) and SMS messages can now be archived and read by the company, as revealed by Android Authority.

This new feature applies to phones managed by an organization and bypasses the confidentiality typically associated with end-to-end encryption (that is, the system that prevents anyone other than the sender and recipient from reading messages). As Forbes points out, this protection only works while the message is being sent: once stored on the phone, the message becomes accessible to the device administrator, often the employer.

Google presents this new feature as a "reliable" tool allowing businesses to store all communications sent from work phones, whether RCS, SMS, or MMS (messages with photos or videos), while displaying a notification when archiving is enabled on the device, the American media outlet adds. The update is being rolled out to all Android devices managed through a company.
