Guerre au Moyen-Orient: Des installations pétrolières visées à Oman et aux Emirats
Oil facilities were targeted by drones on Tuesday in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, officials said, as Iran continues its strikes against Gulf countries in response to Israeli-American raids.
In Oman, drones targeted fuel tanks at the commercial port of Duqm, where one tank was hit.
"The resulting damage has been brought under control" and no casualties have been reported, the Omani news agency said, citing a security source.
This port had already suffered a drone attack on Sunday that injured a worker, while a person was killed on Monday in an attack on an oil tanker off the capital Muscat.
In the neighboring United Arab Emirates, the interception of a drone caused a fall of debris which triggered a fire in the Fujairah Oil Industrial Zone (FOIZ).
This area houses the largest commercial storage capacity in the Middle East for refined petroleum products, according to its website.
"No injuries have been reported, the fire has been brought under control and normal operations in the area have resumed," authorities said.
Iran has been carrying out attacks against oil and gas-producing Gulf countries since Saturday in retaliation for the Israeli-American attack that notably caused the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Oman was not spared despite its role as mediator in the talks between the United States and Iran before the start of the war.
On Monday, a drone attack caused a fire at one of Saudi Arabia's largest refineries, Ras Tanura, operated by the national oil company Aramco, which announced the interruption of some operations at the site.
In Qatar, the state-owned energy company QatarEnergy announced on Tuesday that it had halted production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) following Iranian attacks on facilities at two of its main gas processing sites, causing a surge in the price of European gas.
