La famille d'El Hacen Diarra, mort dans un commissariat parisien, dénonce des violences policières
The family of a 35-year-old Mauritanian, El Hacen Diarra, who died on Wednesday night during his custody in a Parisian police station, denounces, with video evidence, police violence and demands the appointment of an investigating judge.
Lawyer Yassine Bouzrou told AFP on Saturday that he had filed a complaint for "intentional violence resulting in death".
This complaint "is necessary given the failure of the public prosecutor to refer the matter to an investigating judge, even though the circumstances of this tragedy are marked by overwhelming evidence," he stressed in a statement.
According to him, the appointment of an investigating judge is essential "to establish responsibilities" and to ensure "total transparency regarding the conditions of the arrest, custody, and care provided."
