Liban: le président dénonce des frappes nocturnes israéliennes ayant fait un mort
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Saturday denounced nighttime strikes against "civilian installations" in the south of the country which, according to the Health Ministry, left one dead and seven injured.
"Once again, southern Lebanon is the target of a heinous Israeli aggression against civilian facilities. Without justification or pretext. But the gravity of this latest aggression lies in the fact that it comes after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza," he said.
Lebanon's official Ani news agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out 10 raids targeting bulldozer and excavator fleets.
The Israeli army confirmed the attacks, saying it had "struck and dismantled Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon."
"The presence of these devices and Hezbollah's activities in this area constitute a violation of the agreements concluded between Israel and Lebanon," she added.
Despite the November 27, 2024, ceasefire that ended more than a year of deadly conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the Israeli military continues to carry out almost daily strikes in Lebanon, claiming to target members of the Iranian-backed movement and accusing it of trying to rebuild its forces.
The UN reported in early October that 103 civilians had been killed in Lebanon since the truce came into effect.
