Mort de Jean Pormanove : le rappeur Drake va prendre en charge les funérailles du streamer
French streamer Jean Pormanove, real name Raphaël Graven, died Sunday night at the age of 46. Touched by his story, an American streamer partnered with rapper Drake to fund the deceased's funeral.
A touching gesture. Canadian rapper Drake and American streamer Adin Ross have announced that they will be taking charge of the funeral of Jean Pormanove, the French streamer who died on Sunday night.
Informed via social media, where the death of Jean Pormanove created a real shockwave, the streamer Adin Ross, 24, himself announced on X his willingness to pay for the Frenchman's funeral.
"This is horrible and disgusting. Anyone involved in this deserves serious consequences," he said, before adding, "I just spoke to Drake. Drake and I will be covering the funeral expenses."
"It won't bring him back to life, but it's the least we can do. Our prayers go out to Jean's family," concluded the American from Florida, followed by nearly 6.7 million followers on Instagram and 1.8 on Kickstarter.
An investigation opened
Jean Pormanove, or "JP," rose to prominence by streaming his video game sessions on platforms like Twitch and Kickstarter. He had millions of views and hundreds of thousands of subscribers, including more than 640,000 on Twitch.
The French streamer, born in Woippy (Moselle), was also known for his participation in rather dangerous challenges with other content creators, such as Owen Cenazandotti, known as "Naruto" and "Safine".
The two men were also taken into custody last January as part of a preliminary investigation into suspicion of violence against vulnerable people.
And for good reason, Jean Pormanove was regularly the target of online humiliation, including being pelted with water, sprayed with paint, or tied up and beaten. Before his death, he had just completed ten consecutive days of live broadcasts, during which these humiliations were repeated several times.
Although the public prosecutor explained that "at this stage, there is nothing suspicious, the hearings are underway and an autopsy will be carried out", an investigation has nevertheless been opened and entrusted to the Nice research brigade.
Finally, according to the Nice public prosecutor's office, hearings are currently underway and an autopsy should be carried out in the coming days.
