Nathalie Yamb attaque en justice le Conseil de l’Union européenne
It's an open secret. The Council of the European Union sanctioned Nathalie Yamb at the end of June 2025 for her "pro-Russian" activities and positions. The Swiss-Cameroonian activist is banned from entering and transiting the Schengen area, and her assets in the EU have been frozen. Furthermore, she cannot benefit directly or indirectly from funds or economic resources from the European Community area.
"I took the Council of the European Union to court"
On Wednesday, October 8, the activist announced on her X account that she had sued the Council of the European Union before the European Court in Luxembourg.
"I have taken the Council of the European Union to court. And guess what? To judge the case of the illegitimate and illegal sanctions imposed on me," she wrote on the social network.
Three judges were appointed to examine the case: K. Kecsmar (president), P. Nihoul (rapporteur judge) and L. Truchot.
Nathalie Yamb is not very pleased with the composition of this panel, who sees it as a maneuver intended to influence the outcome of the trial. "We appoint a French judge, a judge trained in France, and a French-speaking Belgian judge. We see you! But despite all your maneuvers, we'll see who will be standing at the end of the film," she wrote.
