A fatal dog attack occurred in Tyler, Texas (USA) this Friday, claiming the life of a student who was temporarily looking after the animals.
An online fundraiser has been launched by the mother of Madison Riley Hull, a 23-year-old woman who died on Friday after being attacked by three dogs. The dogs were three pit bulls that the young woman, an occasional pet sitter, was caring for in Tyler, Texas (USA). Local television station WTOC reports that law enforcement officers were called to the scene and were also attacked by the dogs.
The victim knew the family well
A police officer shot and killed one of the animals, causing the other two to flee. Emergency services were then able to provide medical care to the victim, who was in the property's garden. She died shortly afterward. A neighbor had raised the alarm, according to the Tyler Morning Telegraph. Madison Riley Hull had previously babysat for the dogs' owners.
The courts will soon consider the fate of the two pit bulls still alive. The fundraising campaign aims to cover the victim's funeral expenses and thus "honor Madison's life in a way that reflects the love, joy, and humanity she brought to the world," her mother wrote. She emphasized that her daughter was due to graduate with a degree in education in six months and was already teaching young children "who adored her."
