Trump exclut l'Afrique du Sud du sommet du G20 à Miami en 2026
Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that South Africa would not be invited to next year's G20 summit in Miami, taking his diplomatic offensive against the country to a new level.
"South Africa has shown the world that it is not a country worthy of being a member of anything," the US president wrote on his Truth Social network, reiterating his accusations of an alleged deadly persecution of white South African farmers.
Donald Trump boycotted the G20 summit that just took place in Johannesburg and which was held without any official American participation.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has refused to formally hand over the G20 presidency to the next host country, the United States, as is customary.
The South African government has been targeted by the American president since his return to the White House, particularly regarding an alleged "genocide" of the Afrikaners, the descendants of the first European settlers.
In May at the White House, Donald Trump ambushed Cyril Ramaphosa by showing him a video riddled with errors supposed to prove his accusations, which South Africa rejects.
The G20 summit, a format that brings together the world's 20 leading economies, is to be held in December 2026 at a golf resort owned by the US president's family, the "Trump National Doral Miami", in Florida, in the southern United States.
