In black, the metal wall will be so hot that no one will dare touch it, according to an idea from the American president.
The wall along the U.S.-Mexico border will be painted black, U.S. officials announced, specifying that this was a request from Donald Trump. Why? To make the metal hotter in the heat, and therefore even more difficult to climb.
The announcement was made Tuesday in Washington by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who clarified that it was a suggestion from the American president, reports CNN.
“The wall is high, which makes it very, very difficult to climb, if not impossible. It’s also deep in the ground, which would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to dig underneath. And today we’re also going to paint it black,” she said.
"This is precisely at the request of the president, who understands that in hot weather, when an object is painted black, it is even hotter, which makes climbing even more difficult," she continued. The paint should also help combat rust, the head of the US border police added.
CNN clarifies that the cost of this painting project was not disclosed and recalls that the wall separating his country from Mexico "was a central element of Trump's hardline immigration policy during his first term." He is now more focused on deportations.
Kristi Noem staged a scene of herself repainting a portion of the wall black. It will be "so hot to the touch that illegal aliens won't even try," she wrote on X.
