Abus de confiance sur un terrain de 80 millions : Un inspecteur des Impôts et Domaines condamné
The Dakar Magistrates' Court delivered its verdict yesterday, Monday, in the breach of trust case between tax and land inspector B. Diallo and Fatou Guèye. In its ruling, the court found B. Diallo guilty and sentenced him to three months' imprisonment, suspended. He must also pay Fatou Guèye's widow the sum of 50 million CFA francs.
During the trial on November 24, the public prosecutor had requested a one-year prison sentence with a warrant for the defendant who had benefited from provisional release.
The case concerns a 2-hectare plot of land inherited by the wife of her late husband. She had entrusted B. Diallo with the task of selling it for 80 million FCFA. However, the civil servant had led her to believe he had sold the plot for 40 million FCFA. Several years later, Fatou Guèye discovered that her land had indeed been sold for 80 million FCFA, a fact confirmed by members of the cooperative.
