Affaire Aziz Dabala : La chambre d’accusation statue ce jeudi sur la libération de Nabou Lèye
Deep in her cell at the Liberté 6 women's detention and correction center, dancer Marème Laye, known as "Nabou Lèye", crosses her fingers, hoping for another release.
According to Seneweb, the Indictment Chamber of the Dakar Court of Appeal will examine the appeal filed by his lawyers against the order revoking his judicial supervision. One of his lawyers confirmed receiving notification for the hearing scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Nabou Lèye had been released under judicial supervision by the judge of the 1st chamber of Pikine-Guédiawaye, as part of the investigation into the double murder of her friend Aziz Dabala and the young Waly.
But the situation changed following new revelations made by the accused Modou Lo, who was remanded in custody. He identified Nabou Lèye and the artist Tarba Mbaye as the instigators of the crime.
It was on the basis of this new incriminating evidence that the investigating magistrate revoked the judicial supervision order that Nabou Lèye was under. Tarba Mbaye, for his part, was released after his hearings at the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC).
Nabou Lèye's lawyers, who are contesting her placement under a detention order, have filed an appeal.
