Affaire DER/FJ : Adama Diop condamnée pour diffamation et diffusion de fausses informations
The Dakar High Court delivered its verdict on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the case between Ms. Adama Diop and the DER-FJ. Ms. Diop was found guilty of defamation and dissemination of false information and sentenced to a two-month suspended prison sentence. The DER-FJ's civil action was deemed admissible, and it was awarded a symbolic one franc.
It should be recalled that Ms. Diop had spread allegations that the DER-FJ was engaged in fraudulent financing, without being able to substantiate them. She subsequently apologized publicly.
The purpose of this trial was to clarify the facts and to recall the criminal penalties for defamation or the dissemination of false news. The DER-FJ continues its mission of supporting entrepreneurial initiatives among women and young people, while respecting transparency and integrity.

il y'a u abus dans l'application du texte sur la diffusion de fausses nouvelles et sur la diffamation. EN matière de diffamation, la loi interdit toute détention provisoire. Pour la diffusion de fausses nouvelles, il faut qu'elle soit de nature à entraver le fonctionnement des institutions.
Jamais ces deux délits n'ont connu pareilles applications de la part d'un parquet au Sénégal
Je n’ai jamais compris pourquoi, dans un cas de diffamation, l’on arrête le diffamation au lieu de laisser les deux parties aller tranquillement en procès jusqu’à ce qu’un verdict soit prononcé.
