Affaire Fallou Fall : La Cour d'appel a rendu son verdict, fin d’un procès controversé
The Dakar Court of Appeal acquitted 33-year-old Serigne Fallou Fall on Tuesday in the case against his aunt Fatima Dieng, who accused him of rape and pedophilia against his 5-year-old half-sister. Sentenced to 15 years in prison at first instance on January 7, 2025, following a judgment of December 3, 2024 in Pikine-Guédiawaye, Fallou, who had been incarcerated since March 17, 2020, was cleared after proceedings highlighting inconsistencies and the victim's intact hymen.
The attorney general had requested acquittal on July 30, and today's decision ends five years of detention, despite the prior rejection of his request for provisional release.
