Affaire Ndella Madior Diouf : le procès s'ouvre le ...
The Criminal Chamber of the Dakar High Court has taken a decisive step in the case of Ndella Madior Diouf, founder of the Keur Yeurmandé orphanage, who has been detained since December 2023. The hearing, held this Friday, November 14, was strictly procedural, devoted solely to the questioning of the accused's identity in the presence of her lawyer, Aboubacry Barro. No substantive issues were addressed, and the accused was able to return to her cell after this exchange, according to L'Observateur in its Saturday, November 15 edition.
This formality now paves the way for the trial. The same source, citing judicial sources, indicates that the official trial date will be announced "in the very near future," with the hearing expected "sometime next week."
Ndella Madior Diouf faces serious charges: human trafficking, practicing medicine without a license, neglect resulting in the death of a minor, endangering the lives of others, failing to assist a person in danger, and illegally obtaining burial certificates. The case concerns the deaths of six babies in disturbing circumstances at her nursery, a scandal that deeply shocked the public. All her requests for provisional release have been denied due to the gravity of the charges.
