Affaire Ousmane Tounkara : un vice de procédure annule le procès
The legal action brought by activist Ousmane Tounkara against columnists Demba Thioune, Sa Wolof and Bamba Diop (CEO of Feeling Dakar) has been declared inadmissible by the Dakar Criminal Court, reports Les Échos, which attended the hearing held on September 24.
The judge did not rule on the merits of the case, as Tounkara's lawyer was absent during the appeal. His client, based in the United States, was therefore unable to be properly represented, the same source explained.
Ousmane Tounkara sued the defendants for defamation and complicity following the C'Midi program on January 1, 2025, claiming 150 million CFA francs in damages. The proceedings will have to be resumed, with a deposit of 100,000 CFA francs to be paid before October 8, Les Échos specifies.
