Bantaco : Un mari déféré au parquet pour tentative d'assassinat sur sa femme
After 48 hours in police custody at the Mako gendarmerie brigade, MK was brought before the public prosecutor for attempted murder of his wife. The incident took place in Bantaco, a town in the commune of Tomboronkoto, in the department of Kédougou.
According to local sources, the victim, aged around twenty, had taken refuge with her uncle after marital disputes. Unhappy with her departure, her husband went to the village to try to convince his wife to return to the marital home with their six-month-old child. But faced with the family's reluctance, the young woman was kept in Bantaco.
But while his uncle was away in the fields, MK, armed with a knife, allegedly violently attacked his wife, attempting to slit her throat. The woman's screams alerted the neighbors, who intervened.
Seriously injured, she was first treated at the Bantaco health center before being referred to the Kédougou health center. Her life is not in danger.
After his crime, the husband fled. His 72-hour escape ended in Kolia, where he was arrested.
