Chambre d’accusation : Le chroniqueur Ameth Ndoye reste sous bracelet électronique
A sigh of relief for columnist Ameth Ndoye. Placed under house arrest with an electronic tag on November 4th by the senior investigating judge, the prosecution had requested a detention order and appealed. This Thursday, the appeals court examined the case and upheld the order issued by the judge of the 1st chamber of the Dakar court, according to Seneweb.
Ameth Ndoye was arrested following disrespectful remarks he made about Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. The columnist is charged with insulting a person exercising all or part of the prerogatives of the President of the Republic and with spreading false news.
