De son domicile à Rebeuss : le film de l'arrestation de Pape Malick Ndour
Former Youth Minister Pape Malick Ndour, arrested Friday at his home, spent his first night in prison. L'Observateur reports that officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) apprehended him just after Friday prayers (Al Jummah). The former coordinator of the National Program for Community Agricultural Domains (PRODAC) was then taken to the DIC headquarters, where he reportedly spent less than an hour awaiting the arrival of his lawyers, before being transferred directly to the Rebeuss Prison, according to sources at the newspaper owned by the Future Media Group (GFM).
This development follows the execution by the Financial Prosecutor's Office of a decision issued on April 28 by the Supreme Court. The court had upheld the ruling of the Financial Indictment Chamber ordering his detention.
The coordinator of the cadres of the Alliance for the Republic (Apr, former ruling party) is being prosecuted for criminal association, alleged embezzlement of public funds and money laundering involving 2.3 billion CFA francs in connection with the Prodac case.
Pape Malick Ndour had, however, been granted provisional release under electronic monitoring in November 2025 following his hearing with Idrissa Diarra, the president of the panel of investigating judges of the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF). But the Financial Prosecutor's Office contested this decision by appealing. Seized of the appeal, the Financial Indictment Chamber ultimately overruled the investigating judge, "reversing the order" and ordering his imprisonment, as reported by Gfm.
His party denounces an "illegal decision" and demands his "immediate release".
