Détention de chanvre indien : Deux mois ferme pour O.Sow malgré ses justifications thérapeutiques
The young man O. Sow was tried this Friday by the court of flagrant offenses of Thiès after being arrested by the police in possession of six (6) cones of Indian hemp.
Charged with possession of marijuana, O. Sow, who had been remanded in custody, admitted to the charges in court. He offered a justification for his possession, however. "I was told that marijuana can treat asthma. That's why I bought some to try it out," the defendant stated.
O. Sow concluded his testimony by solemnly promising that he would never touch that drug again.
Considering the facts to be consistent, the public prosecutor requested the application of the law.
The judge found O. Sow guilty and sentenced him to two (2) months in prison.
