Diffusion de fausses nouvelles : Serigne Bada Kemane écope d’un an, dont un mois ferme
Badara Sarr, alias "Serigne Bada Kemane," was tried this Wednesday at the Dakar flagrante delicto court. He is accused of insulting a person exercising all or part of the prerogatives of the President of the Republic and of disseminating false news. He had made remarks deemed offensive to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and was placed in pre-trial detention on October 2, 2025.
In court, Serigne Bada Kemane made amends. The public prosecutor, who believes the facts are consistent, requested a six-month sentence, three of which are firm.
Following his lawyer Ousmane Thiam, who pleaded for an outright acquittal on both charges, the court acquitted Badara Sarr of the offense of insulting a person exercising all or part of the prerogatives of the President of the Republic. However, he was found guilty of disseminating false news and sentenced to one year in prison, including one month in prison.
