Élève-magistrat accusé de viol : l'extrait de naissance qui change tout
Accused of rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor, trainee magistrate CM Thiaw's future now hangs in the balance, pending judicial and disciplinary decisions. Although he is currently on provisional release, this remains precarious: the prosecutor has appealed this measure, exposing the accused to the possibility of being returned to custody, reports Les Échos in its edition of Friday, April 3.
The substantive hearing on March 9th shed new light on the complainant's age. "A birth certificate was produced, at the request of the investigating judge, revealing that the alleged victim is in fact an adult," the same source indicated. This discovery could lead to the charges being reclassified and the dismissal of the pedophilia and abduction of a minor initially brought against the future magistrate.
The investigating magistrate also ordered a site visit. Investigators will go to the trainee magistrate's home on April 7 to search for potential clues and verify details concerning the room where the abuse allegedly occurred, as described by the plaintiff.
In parallel with the public action, the newspaper adds, his superiors have opened disciplinary proceedings against him, jeopardizing his career as a magistrate even before the outcome of the trial.
