Justice : Le CFJ outille les greffiers

An official ceremony for the handover of computer equipment donated by the German Cooperation (GIZ) took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Judicial Training Center, in the presence of the Director General Souleymane Teliko and the representative of GIZ, Dr. Mathias Mühlhans.

This allocation is part of the National Retraining Program for Court Clerks and Other Judicial Staff, initiated following discussions between the Ministry of Justice and the court clerks' association. This program aims to provide these staff members with supplementary training, enabling them to access a higher category within a framework of enhancing and professionalizing the judiciary.

Thanks to the material and technical support of GIZ, the CFJ will now be able to deploy distance learning courses nationwide. This development marks a significant step in the modernization of the Senegalese judicial system by facilitating access to continuing education for court clerks working in the country's various jurisdictions.

"A further step towards modernizing judicial training"

Speaking at the event, Souleymane Teliko, the Director General of the CFJ, welcomed "a significant donation of equipment that will strengthen our technical and material capabilities and, above all, modernize our training program." He expressed his gratitude to GIZ for this support, emphasizing that this equipment donation "illustrates the quality and strength of the partnership between the CFJ and German cooperation."

Mr. Teliko noted that this initiative is part of the implementation of the agreement reached between the judicial staff unions and the government. "The plan is to provide training for all judicial personnel throughout the country. This equipment will allow us to have an appropriate and effective distance learning system."

A strong and lasting cooperation

For his part, Dr. Mathias Mühlhans, head of the Rule of Law Strengthening project at GIZ, reaffirmed Germany's commitment to cooperation with the CFJ. "The Judicial Training Center is one of our most important partners in the justice sector. This donation of equipment demonstrates the strength and continuity of our partnership, which began several years ago," he stated.

He added that GIZ will continue to support the CFJ in its mission of training, capacity building and promotion of the rule of law.

The equipment handed over includes desktop and laptop computers as well as a scanner for a total estimated value of 30 million CFA francs, of which 13 million represents this first batch officially handed over.

This collaboration between the CFJ, the Ministry of Justice and GIZ is part of a global dynamic aimed at making Senegalese justice more efficient, inclusive and accessible to all.
