Kaffrine : Les femmes de l’APR exigent justice, après l’agression de l’adjointe au maire
The women of the Alliance for the Republic (APR) in Kaffrine held a press conference this Sunday to strongly denounce the "fatal" attack on the deputy mayor of Kaffrine, Aïssatou Ba, who has been in a coma for 24 days.
The spokesperson for the day of the "APR" women of Kaffrine, Mame Coumba Touré, declared that she was "deeply shocked and outraged" by this attack which occurred during the official ceremony for the handover of the keys to the classrooms rehabilitated by PROMOVILLES.
According to her, Ms. Ba "was brutally attacked while carrying out her duties," an act she described as "barbaric." She called on the authorities to take firm action. "We urge the relevant authorities to take all necessary measures to identify and prosecute the perpetrators and those who ordered this attack."
Mame Coumba Touré also reiterated the commitment of the women of the APR party "to democracy, respect for institutions, and the safety of the population." She concluded with a solemn appeal: "Never again! Let justice be done."
For her part, Maman Diop, the victim's daughter and a PASTEF activist, wanted to set the record straight. According to her, her mother "never harmed anyone" and was present "in the course of her duties, after the key handover ceremony." She also demanded that "justice be served to shed light on" this affair and finally allow them to "find her mother's attacker."
While the deputy mayor is still fighting for her life in the hospital, the women of Kaffrine are joining their voices to demand truth, justice and security for all public figures.
