Upon the announcement of his release under judicial supervision by the investigating judge of the 1st chamber of the Financial Judicial Pool, relatives of businessman Tahirou Sarr took to the streets to express their satisfaction. The crowd gathered at Tahirou's family home in Oréfondé (Matam department), where the demonstrators also took the opportunity to demand the release of the mayor of Agnams, Farba Ngom, who has been in pretrial detention since February 27, 2025, shortly before the businessman in the same case.
Despite a provisional release order, subject to judicial supervision, issued to the two defendants, Farba was not granted this measure. A last-minute appeal by the financial prosecutor's office opposed the defense's request.
