MAC de Ziguinchor : Trois jeunes de Bignona déférés pour un présumé vol de bétail
Three young men from the Bignona department were brought before the Ziguinchor prison and correctional facility on Monday, November 17, for alleged cattle theft.
According to our sources, it all started with an exchange between Mr. Goudiaby, a resident of the village of Baila, and his friend from Thionck-Essyl. The latter was looking for an ox for a wedding. Mr. Goudiaby reportedly assured him he had one for sale. That's when a man named S. Sané came into the picture. This young man from Diégoune, who owns a tricycle, is often hired for his services. A meeting was arranged for the delivery of the ox around 5:00 PM, before it was postponed until the night of Saturday, November 15th.
But a fisherman spotted them. Suspicious, he alerted some villagers to the suspicious presence of the three individuals. These villagers raided the location, managed to subdue the suspects, who were then handed over to the commander of the Baila military base.
Subsequently, the gendarmes, acting on instructions from the army base command, took these individuals to the Bignona gendarmerie brigade for the opening of an investigation, which led to their transfer to the Ziguinchor MAC.
