The trial of the five people prosecuted in an alleged fraud case linked to the QNET platform has been postponed to July 10, 2026 by the Thiès court of flagrant offenses.

Brought before the prosecutor's office on June 25, 2026, by officers from the Nguint police station, the defendants—two men and three women—appeared before the court this Friday. The court ultimately decided to postpone the hearing until next week.

A complaint triggered the investigation

The case came to light following a complaint filed on June 22, 2026, by a resident of Rufisque. The complainant claims that he was approached last April by a woman promising him a particularly lucrative online sales job.

Invited to join the organization's headquarters in Thionakh Peulh, Thiès, he explained that he was asked to pay 500,000 FCFA to purchase a product called "Bio Disc." In exchange, he was allegedly promised a weekly income of 195 euros, provided he recruited six new members. He also stated that he paid an additional 100,000 FCFA for accommodation.

According to his complaint, he never received the promised product and his requests for reimbursement have gone unanswered.

Forty people arrested

Following this report, police in Nguint conducted an operation at two villas rented in Thionakh Peulh and the ZAC Nord. The operation led to the arrest of forty people.

Analysis of the seized phones allowed investigators to identify the alleged main figures in the network, including the woman accused of recruiting the plaintiff.

Police also seized five laptops, two Wi-Fi modems, three boxes of "Bio Disc" products, four demonstration boards, as well as several notepads and attendance books.

Following the investigation, five suspects were brought before the prosecutor at the Thiès High Court. Their trial will resume on July 10, 2026.
