Réaménagement gouvernemental : Thierno Souleymane Diop Niang applaudit la nomination de Cheikh Niang
Former Senegalese Ambassador to the United Nations in New York, Cheikh Niang, was appointed this Saturday, September 6, to head the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad. A good decision, according to Thierno Souleymane Diop Niang, an international relations researcher who comes at a complex time when Senegal appears to be seeking to strengthen its presence and influence in Africa and around the world.
"We should all consider ourselves lucky to see a man like Cheikh Niang, with so much experience, leading Senegalese diplomacy, which is facing immense challenges," he said on Sud FM.
According to Mr. Diop, "since the advent of President Diomaye Faye, Senegal has been working to strengthen and build ties and good relations with neighboring countries in diplomacy and diversity. It is therefore interesting to have a seasoned diplomat like Cheikh Niang to better strengthen multilateralism, synergies between African countries so that there is a dynamic, a proactivity in diplomacy, but also in actions for well thought out and developed strategies to get the country off the ground."
"Senegal, due to its geographical and geostrategic position, plays a key role in Africa and the arrival of this new minister, who has served Senegal in African countries, could facilitate the expansion of Senegalese diplomacy by also trying to enter into agreements or partnerships with other countries," he explained.

A Good man who has the know-how for that position..
