« Rupture » et Gouvernance : Thierno Bocoum exige l’abrogation de la loi d’amnistie et la fin de la « gestion politicienne de la dette »
A guest on iRadio's Le Jury du Dimanche program, Thierno Bocoum, president of the Agir movement, issued a strong appeal to the new authorities for a genuine break in Senegal's economic and political management. The former MP warned against the risk of repeating the mistakes of the past.
For Thierno Bocoum, public finance management is a top priority. He advocated for a non-partisan approach to public debt. "We must move away from political debt management," he insisted.
He denounced a past tendency to justify borrowing by electoral considerations: "We have seen governments borrowing to maintain political clienteles, not to sustainably transform the economy." He now calls for a citizen audit of the debt and a national debate on fiscal sustainability, demanding rigor, transparency, and accountability. "We cannot talk about transforming the country if we do not transform the way public money is managed," he added.
Continuing his criticism of past political practices, Thierno Bocoum clearly called for the repeal of the amnesty law. "The amnesty law must be repealed. It constitutes an obstacle to truth and justice."
According to him, no society can build lasting peace on "forgetting and unspoken words." He believes that "amnesty must not be an instrument of political comfort. It must be replaced by sincere work of truth and reconciliation," referring to the political tensions that have marked recent years.
Thierno Bocoum concluded by calling on current leaders not to fall into the temptation of political revenge, recalling that "The Senegalese people have expressed a need for profound change, not an alternation of faces."

L' abrogation de la loi d'amnistie est une demande sociale pour la loi s'applique à tout le monde.
Il a toujours des arguments solides. Il faut le suivre pour comprendre certaines questions.
