Thiès : 5 ans de réclusion pour K. Bâ et une scène d’adieu déchirante avec l’enfant né du viol
The criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court has delivered its verdict in the case of rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor between the defendant K. Bâ and M. Mballo, a 14-year-old girl. After deliberation, the judge found K. Bâ guilty of the charges and sentenced him to five years' imprisonment.
After the verdict was announced, the man asked the judge for permission to hold his daughter, born of the rape, before returning to prison to serve his sentence. The court granted his request, provoking strong emotions in the courtroom.
As a reminder, these events took place in 2022 in Thiès, and the case was tried on January 27, 2026. In court, the defendant admitted to having had sexual relations with the girl on three occasions but denied forcing her. He claimed that the acts occurred in his room and that the girl had come of her own free will.
But the victim contradicted his statements. She stated that she did not have a romantic relationship with K. Bâ and that, during the first rape, it was he who had invited her to his room.
The victim's mother testified that her daughter waited until she was pregnant to tell her about the rape she allegedly suffered at the hands of the accused, K. Bâ. She emphasized that she filed a complaint because the accused had initially denied paternity of the pregnancy.
For his part, the public prosecutor considered that K. Bâ was guilty on all counts and had requested five years of criminal imprisonment.
