Verdict à la Chambre criminelle : S. M. Sène condamné pour viol et pédophilie lors du Gamou de Thiénaba
The criminal chamber of the Thiès High Court has delivered its verdict concerning fisherman SM Sène, prosecuted for rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor. The defendant was tried on January 13, 2026. Following its deliberations, the court found SM Sène guilty on all charges and sentenced him to six years' imprisonment, as well as ordering him to pay the plaintiff 500,000 CFA francs in damages.
The 25-year-old fisherman was accused of forcing F. Guèye, a 16-year-old minor, to have sexual relations. The events date back to the night of Gamou in 2021, in Thiénaba.
The convicted man denied the accusations, stating that he had never had sexual relations with the victim. Despite his denials, the public prosecutor considered SM Sène guilty of the charges and requested a sentence of 10 years' imprisonment.
