«Arva» : la grosse révélation de Jahman
Who wrote the lyrics to "Arva," Jahman's latest hit single? A persistent rumor attributes them to Mamadou Diop, the husband of the customs colonel whose name the song is given. But the artist denies this in L'Observateur: "I am the author and composer. However, the initiative came from Mr. Mamadou Diop."
Jahman says the latter contacted him to compose a piece in tribute to him to celebrate his birthday. “He wanted something authentic, that spoke to both his heart and his personality. Already knowing the couple, I knew that Arva was no ordinary woman: a customs colonel, a woman of values, rigor, and generosity. So I accepted without hesitation, putting my pen and my voice at the service of this beautiful story.”
Furthermore, Jahman adds, "the melodies and the artistic construction remain" her work. As a result: "'Arva' is not just a name, it's a symbol. She represents all those women who combine career, rigor, and family life without ever losing their humanity. Arva embodies the model wife, the woman of value, the inspiring figure. Beyond the title, it's a tribute to all those strong and exemplary women who deserve to be celebrated."
