Les Victoires de la musique guinéenne : L'Afrique au coeur d'une fête mondiale
Conakry is preparing to host the biggest African music festival, bringing together the finest voices from the continent and the diaspora. After a successful sixth edition, the seventh edition of the Guinean Music Awards will be held on December 11, 2025, alongside the Guinean Music Fair scheduled from December 8 to 10, around the theme "Music and cultural industries facing the challenges of globalization," according to the organizing committee, which announced the information this weekend at a press conference.
Several prominent figures from the music world will participate in this major cultural event in Guinea's capital, renowned as a breeding ground for talented artists who bring pride to the continent on the international stage. The major innovation of the 2025 edition is the significant increase in high-quality awards, with 35 trophies, compared to previous editions. Artists from Africa and the diaspora will compete in various categories.
Considered one of the biggest award ceremonies for music stars, the event holds a prominent place in the African music scene, with the active participation of artists and music professionals. Last year, Senegalese artists such as Sidy Diop and Viviane distinguished themselves at this event thanks to their musical performances, which garnered international critical acclaim.
According to the organizing committee, all the winners will perform in France next summer in a major concert hall. The winner of the VDMG 2025 Grand Prize or the Artist of the Year will receive support for a bankable life project focused on environmental protection, education, and health, coordinated by the agency ÉLITE COM.
