MAN OF THE YEAR 2025 : Découvrez les 5 rappeurs nominés
The list of rappers nominated for the "MAN OF THE YEAR 2025" award was released yesterday, Monday, by Rap221, a Galsen hip-hop media outlet. Five talented artists have been nominated this year. They are:
Oothentik Zeus : Born in 1995 in Rufisque, Oothentik Zeus, whose real name is Baye Dial Gueye, is a talented and versatile artist. He began his career with the group FTB, then decided to go solo. He has released several notable projects, such as his mixtape "Recto Verso" and his album "Thiapathioly," which received critical acclaim.
His unique style, a blend of crunk and dirty south, as well as his committed and hard-hitting lyrics, have made him one of the most promising artists in Galsen Rap. His new album "Ange de mes Démons" released in May 2025 seems to be a very personal and conceptual project, where he opens up and chases away his demons to face the future with renewed energy.
Elzo Jamdong : Real name Elhadji Diallo, Elzo Jamdong was born in Dakar. His album "Mën Na Nekk" was a resounding success, with an original event release and a unique passport-like format. The album was also preceded by a national tour, a television show, and a documentary on professional opportunities for young people in Senegal. And that's not all! Elzo Jamdong was named Ambassador of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which is a great honor for him and for Rap Galsen. He continues to create and innovate with his new project "WE ON," which highlights young talents from all over Senegal.
Bm Jaay : Born in Yoff, Bm Jaay, whose real name is Madione Ndir, has won over a large online audience with his freestyles and hit singles. He has since cemented his stature with explosive live performances.
With his electric stage energy and lyrics rooted in everyday life, he has established himself as a key artist on the urban scene. He is one of the most promising artists in Senegalese rap. He is the author of several hits such as "Jude Bellingham", "Gaara bu thiat", "New Yoff City", "Fananal fofou", "Aladji" and "Nappé".
Ngaaka Blindé : Born in 1994 in Guédiawaye, Ngaka Blindé, real name Baba Ndiaye, is known for his unique flow and powerful lyrics that often address social and political themes. Ngaaka Blindé began his musical career by joining local rap groups before going solo. He gained popularity thanks to his freestyles and hit singles.
Ngaaka Blindé has also made headlines for his involvement in politically charged musical projects, such as his track "Opium," which criticizes the regime in Senegal. He has released several albums, including "Secret 7 Vol. 2," which was well-received by the public.
Taal Bi : Real name Lat Fatim Mbaye, Taal Bi is a young rapper on the rise! Born in Thiès in 2000, he started rapping at the age of 13 and has already racked up several trophies, including the first edition of Sen Petit Gallé Hip-hop and the Rap Wolof Mo Raw Challenge. His unique flow and deep lyrics have allowed him to stand out on the Senegalese rap scene. Taal Bi is considered one of the promising young rappers in the Senegalese rap scene, with an ability to adapt to different styles and captivate his audience. He is one of the few young rappers from Thiès to have managed to make a name for himself on the Senegalese music scene.
