Le SYNPICS condamne une tentative d’agression contre les reporters de Sans Limites lors d’une manifestation
The National Executive Board (NEB) of the Senegalese Union of Information and Communication Professionals (SYNPICS) issued a statement on Monday strongly denouncing an attempted attack on the Sans Limites reporting team, which occurred on Friday, September 19, 2025, during a demonstration organized by the Rappel à l'Ordre movement. According to the union, under pressure from overexcited protesters, the organizers snatched the journalists' microphones, an act described as a "serious threat to the practice of journalism in Senegal."
In its press release dated September 21, SYNPICS emphasizes that this type of behavior, which has become recurrent in certain public demonstrations, constitutes a direct attack on the freedom to inform, a fundamental principle of democracy. "The union expresses its total and unwavering support for the journalists and technicians of Sans Limites, and salutes their courage and professionalism in the face of this intimidation," it reads. SYNPICS also calls on the competent authorities to take all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of information professionals in the exercise of their mission.
