L'Américain Robert Duvall, connu pour ses rôles dans "Le Parrain" et "Apocalypse Now", est décédé
American actor Robert Duvall, known for his roles in "The Godfather" and "Apocalypse Now", died at the age of 95, his wife announced Monday.
"Yesterday we said goodbye to my dear husband, precious friend and one of the greatest actors of our time," Luciana Duvall wrote in a statement shared on social media.
"Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort," she added.
Born in 1931, Robert Duvall had his first major role in "To Kill a Mockingbird" (1962), a screen adaptation of Harper Lee's masterpiece "To Kill a Mockingbird".
Francis Ford Coppola had entrusted him with his most memorable roles: that of surfing-loving Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore in "Apocalypse Now" (1979) or the lawyer in "The Godfather".
He won the Oscar for best actor for his portrayal in 1983 of a former country singer turned alcoholic in the film "Tender Happiness".
Also a producer and director, Robert Duvall had also directed five films.
